My life as Ian Fraser cartoonist

I started drawing cartoons when I lived in London. Initially my cartoons appeared in publications like US Chamber of Commerce magazine and in medical related publications like Social Work Today and Frontline, the magazine for the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy UK. I would illustrate an article that appeared in these publications with a cartoon that summed up the theme of the story. I was influenced by a famous English cartoonist of the day called Calman and a wonderful  American cartoonist called RO Blechman. I loved their minimalist style and learned to reduce the cartoon down to its essential parts. I think my cartoon background has influenced my painting by getting a message across to make the paintings work.
