Ian Fraser portraits

Painting portraits or people is very challenging because you are trying to get a likeness in my case by suggestion and paint rather than 100% accuracy. Painting people is fun and very demanding. In 2007 I studied at the Arts Students League in New York and we did an intense painting experience. My tutor was the excellent Ken McIndoe and I learned the basics from his teaching of values, compostion and observation. I guess I like to capture a quirkiness if possible which probably comes from my interest in cartoons.
